5 degrees of separation

The 5 degrees of separation boxes have grief and social distancing as their subject.

5 degrees of separation /fʌɪv dɪˈɡriːs ɒv sɛpəˈreɪʃ(ə)n/

 This series of book box designs was made just before and during the start of the pandemic in 2020. They are created intuitively with coincidence and chance being a big part of the design choices. The subject is grief and social distancing.

I started animating the boxes to enhance the readability of the work on a screen in times when anything tactile had become alien.
